After winners are announced, top 3 in both categories will be published through our partners and all participants through SPEJ!

We are officially creating a REAL BOOK with all of your submissions. Anyone can be published in the book (including those who did not win). Fill out the survey link to be featured: https://forms.gle/3Pd4C7gXkWFrPtY57

Your work will be credited in the book and your name as well as social media will ensure acknowledgement. The book will be accessible via Amazon in the coming months.

Rules and Guidelines:

2020-2021 Theme: 
"The World During a Pandemic" is the theme for this year of The Power of Science Art and Poetry Competition! Participants are expected to show their interpretation of this years theme through artwork and poetry. 

This competition looks for originality, personality, and technical skill. Your work will be showcased on this website and awards will be given to those who win!

Participants can submit up to two submissions for both art and poetry.

Artwork Requirements:

Artwork must be within listed mediums:

  • Digital Art

  • Drawing & Illustration

Poetry Requirements:

May include but is not limited to:

  • Prose poetry

  • Free verse

  • Formal poetry

  • Spoken word


Eligibility:
Students enrolled in public, private, or home-school in any area of the U.S or internationally.

Student must be in grades 1-12 or ages 5-18.

Judging Criteria:
Originality: Work is unconventional and shows new ways of expressing ideas.
Personality: Personal style and opinions are evident in work.
Technical Skill: Work is well created and shows attention to detail or is deliberately used to express a perspective.

Judges: The student’s work will be judged by prestigious art teachers and writing teachers. Some of the judging panel includes: Tong Wei Zhang (Helen Zhang), a talented art teacher; Jia (Jessica) Wei, a teacher of the Yi Asian Arts Institute; the teaching board of Diyi Boston, a private educational company.

Sci2 Foundation want to personally thank every single one of the competitors in our first ever competition: The Power of Science Art and Poetry Competition! As a student led organization, we never expected the incredible submissions and support that all of the competitors contributed. Visit the competition page on our website to learn more about the results, featured posts, and even a real book! While this is our first event and the submissions have already closed, there will absolutely be many more in the near future so look out for new opportunities to contribute science, art, and writing education for everyone!
